Going to Holy Places// Today will be Nap Time
<Hello EVERYONE>
I feel like it's been a long time.
Well a long time since I have had an actual normal P-day.
I don't even know where to begin--
First- I was able to go to the Taipei Temple this week-
which was SO needed.
I didn't realize how long it has been since I've gone to the temple.
It truly is the House of the Lord here on earth,
Even though I'm halfway across the world, the feeling inside the Taipei temple was exactly like the ones at home.
I am SO blessed that I had the opportunity to go to the temple again-
I know that the work we do in the temple blesses our ancestors as well as us-
In the states, we are so lucky to live so close to temples, here in Taiwan, some members wake up at 3am to go to temple, and they clear out a whole entire day to be able to make a trip there and back.
Anyways, the members here are so great and so faithful :)
We are still meeting with Su Jie Mei and her 9 year old son, Leo.
Leo is definitely progressing towards baptism,
sometimes it amazes me how children really do have an simple, but strong, understanding of the gospel :)
I also went on exchanges this week.
This time with Sister Munns :)
She is a brand new missionary who has been in Taiwan for about 2 weeks!
I still feel like I just got to Taiwan, but going on exchanges made me realize how fast time goes by on a mission-
There is still so much to do and so much to learn,
if we don't take as much in as we can,
we might miss out on so many blessings and learning experiences Heavenly Father has in store for us.
Last thing:
I found this talk in my apartment called "The Fourth Missionary"
It talks about four different types of missionaries, and how we should all strive to be the fourth kind.
My favorite part in the talk is when it talks about giving our heart and our will to the Lord, not because we have to, but because we want to. The talk goes on to explain about consecration and how we get to decide the extent of our change on our missions.
If we are aligning our will with the Father's only because we have to, we are only changing our behavior, not our nature.
But if we align our will with the Father's, because we want to, we will change our behavior AND nature, and that's where the true change begins to happen.
The talk is so long- 24 pages- but so worth the read.
I love you all so much.
Thanks for all of your love and support!
Always, Sister Michelle Liu
Line of the Week:
*doing recitations in the morning
note: We recite the first vision, our purpose, and D&C 50:13-14 every morning in english and chinese
Me and Sister Geddes:"I saw a pillar of light, exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me...."
1 minute later*
Me and Sister Geddes:"I saw a pillar of light, exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me...."
Another minute later*
Me and Sister Geddes:"I saw a pillar of light, exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me...."
Me: Wait didn't we recite the first vision already?
Sister Geddes: I don't think so...
Me: Ok let's do it then-
Me and Sister Geddes:"I saw a pillar of light, exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me...."
Turns out we recited the first vision over and over again for about 15 minutes... Needless to say, we were both pretty tired that morning and didn't really know what was going on...
Lesson learned: I need to catch up on some sleep today.
