This week Sister Liu shared the following...
Did your family just all dye their hair black??
Did your family just all dye their hair black??
<HELLO EVERYONE>
Whoohoooo NEW AREA :D
I am now in Taichung (DongHai)- and it is SO GOOD.
I don't have much time to email this week, so bullet points it is:
DongHai:
- The whole thing is actually a giant hill..
- Known for developing "Donghai thighs"
- This area currently doesn't have many investigators so we spend most of our time in parks talking to families- there are an insane number of parks here.
Sister Geddes:
- My new companion!
- From Idaho :)
- Also a fellow BYU student
- AND also a DANCER
I am so grateful to have her as a companion- On our first day together we set some companionship goals- It's gonna be a great move call :D
People we have been teaching:
Leo: A 9 year old boy- the son of one of the less actives in the ward,
he is a ball of energy..
BUT we LOVE teaching him, and he is preparing for baptism!!
Xiao Hui: One of our recent convert's sister.
She has a 4 year old daughter named Bella, and started investigating the church after her sister got baptized- we are hoping to set a baptisimal date with her soon!
Miracle of the week:
We were in the park talking to everyone as usual, and we noticed some work out gear on a bench. We sat on the bench and made some calls- then the girl who owned the work out gear came to pick it up. She sat down and we invited her to come to church. She had so many questions about God and prayer. We were able to teach her a lesson, and say a prayer with her- afterwards she even set up another time to meet with us again! She seemed genuinely interested in the gospel- and I am just so grateful for the little miracles we get to see each day.
Line of the week:
*while looking at my family pictures*
Member in the ward: I thought everyone in California was blonde.
Me: Wait, what?
Member: Did your family just all dye their hair black?
Me: What? No, it's natural...
Member: But how?
Me: How?... Because we are asian...
Member: Wait, your family is Asian?? I can't even tell!!
Me: ......
Don't really have much to say about that one... Except I was just really confused..
Love you all! Hope everyone has a great week!
Always, Sister Michelle Liu
