This week sister Michelle Liu shared the following...
ROLLER COASTER WEEK
ROLLER COASTER WEEK
HELLO EVERYONE!!!
Ok this week has sort of been a roller coaster.. MTC is fun, but it's also really hard. Let's start from the beginning:
Monday 1/26 Day 20:
Temple as usual, always a good time. In the afternoon we said bye to Sister Andrewson, who is in District C. She is now in Singapore! District C left Zone 39 this week and it was so sad. More about this later.. Then We had a zone leader/sister training leader meeting at night, the first of many many many meetings.
Tuesday 1/27 Day 21:
Woke up at 3:30 am. Yes, I know, A.M. The rest of District C was boarding the bus to leave to the airport for early flights so Sister Graham and I got up to say goodbye. Needless to say, we were exhausted for the rest of the day. BUT, it was worth it. They have become some of my closest friends, and it was pretty depressing to see them leave. Sisters being split apart = a. lot. of. crying. Later that day we taught Wang Jie Mei. We shared a talk with her that I would recommend you all to read: it's called Faith- The Choice is Yours. Afterwards we had Devotional, it was about what kind of missionary we wanted to be. Here are some of my favorite scriptures from devotional:
Ether 12:12 Moroni 7:37 Alma 26:23 3 Nephi 5:13
Wednesday 1/28 Day 22:
Was a host for the new missionaries that came in. Pretty much, new missionaries pull in, we help them take their luggage off the car, get them registered, carry their luggage up to their room, and bring them to their classroom for their first class. We were told to carry their luggage to make it easier for them. Now, picture this: a 5 foot sister missionary, trying to carry 3 giant pieces of luggage around the MTC campus. Yeah, that was me. I ended up stacking them on top of each other and pushing the whole thing. I don't think you could even see my head behind it...
Thursday 1/29 Day 23:
Long, tiring day. It was pretty rough for some reason. Didn't write much in my journal that night, so this is really short... but it goes to show, not every day at the MTC is rainbows and unicorns.
Friday 1/30 Day 24:
Started feeling sick. Long day with long classes. Got a package from my dance camp counselor, Alex. She sent me cookies and a note, so that made my day a lot better.
Saturday 1/31 Day 25:
Such a good day. See what I mean about it being a roller coaster? We had TRCs. The lady we taught really opened up to us about her personal problems. We shared Ether 12:27 (my favorite scripture) and bore our testimonies about God's love. The spirit was so strong, and the 3 of us ended up crying.
Sunday 2/1 Day 26:
Hard to believe it's already been 26 days at the MTC. It was Fast Sunday. But surprisingly, I wasn't even hungry throughout the day. Branch council meeting in the morning and then we had Mission conference. Here are some of my favorite quotes from conference:
"You can't do anything about the length of your mission, but you can do something about the width and the depth."
" Faith is not about everything turning out ok, it is about being ok no matter how everything turns out."
" Blessed are those who can give without remembering and receive without forgetting."
After that, we had District meeting and then sacrament meeting. I went up and bore my testimony in Chinese. Well more like Chinglish, but still. Mandarin is finally coming along. Then we had a leadership training meeting because we are getting 20 new missionaries into our zone this Wednesday!! Later we went on temple walk and it was really nice :)
Well I gotta run! Need to go make little gifts for the 12 new sisters coming in :) Perks of being a sister training leader haha :)
I love and miss you all!!
