16 More Days to Go...
Hello everyone!
Another week has come and gone at the MTC, it seems like time just doesn't exist here. I can't believe I only have 16 days left here!
Monday we had our first Skype TRC! We get to skype members who are living in Taiwan, we skyped a girl named Aubry Chu, who actually lives in our mission area! We shared 3 Nephi 13:31-33 with her, and it was a really great experience. Also good practice for our Chinese :)
Tuesday we had choir and sang Consider the Lillies- one of the best songs ever :) I suggest you all to read the lyrics again even if you already know the song, it has an amazing message. Devotional was by Daniel l. Johnson who talked to us about faith. Quote of the day: "Faith is a principle of power and action" - which is so true! We can't just sit around expecting to have faith- we need to act upon it and then our faith will grow (I've read Alma 32 at least 20 times here at the MTC already- it's such a great chapter!)
Taught Wang Fei and Li Zhi Hao on Wednesday. Taught them the difference between the Spirit and our own thoughts. We taught them about how everything good comes from God, they both seemed to grasp the concept pretty well :) Got a package of mac and cheese from mom - Thanks! :)
Had an interview with my teacher Thursday night. He shared with me John 21:15-17. It's a common scripture- but has really helped me get through the week :)
Taught Wang Fei and Li Zhi Hao again on Friday. Best lessons so far- we focused on helping them build a relationship with Heavenly Father. We've been really focusing on their needs, and trying to apply the principle of teaching people, not lessons. And it's been going really well. She has really gained a strong testimony.
Really all we did on Saturday was practice our Chinese. Elder Chen and I competed to see who could recite the first vision faster. It ended up being a tie. I'll win eventually.. Haha it's sort of sad to think that I know the first vision in chinese but not in english...
Sunday. I cried. Is this surprising to anyone? ok well back story: Before all the new missionaries came into zone 39, it was just my district (district D) and district A. Sister Graham and I were the only sisters and then there were 12 elders - we really became one huge family. It feels like I just have 12 older/younger brothers. District A is leaving tomorrow morning and they sang God Be With You Till We Meet Again in sacrament meeting.. Needless to say, Sister Graham and I were bawling in the front row. Devotional was by President James Lindahl. Quotes of the day: "Fear, doubt, and faith can not exist at the same time." " You must learn to walk to the edge of the light and a few steps into the darkness, and then the light will show you the way."
I have to run, but remember I love you all! Remember the Lord is always on your side!
Love, Sister Liu
