Adventures in the Hospital
< HELLO EVERYONE >
First things first, don't worry.
I'm fine.
Just thought I would make the subject line a little more interesting this week.
Haha but actually we were in the hospital-
Sister Olsen has been getting really bad back pains so we went to go see what was happening
Two Americans trying to find their way around a large Taiwanese hospital...
Let's just say we got really good at charades...
But Sister Olsen is fine, and was prescribed medication.
All is well.
This week, we went on exchanges!
Which means we basically switch companions with another set of sisters.
Sister Olsen stayed here in Shi Zhong with Sister Jorgenson-
And I went to Xiaogang with Sister Jorgenson's companion: Sister Johnston.
Exchanges were so great-
We taught a lesson to a girl named Angie.
Angie had been feeling scared before her baptismal interview-
I just met her that day, but from talking to her I just knew she was so prepared to receive the gospel.
As we started talking, Angie began to open up.
We were able to resolve all of her concerns and by the end of the lesson, she felt so incredibly prepared and calm.
The Spirit really has a way of bringing comfort and peace to people in times of need.
We also had a great lesson with the Bishop's family this week.
We talked about the importance of missionary work and the impact we can have on other people.
The bishop and his wife have four kids and they all got involved :)
They came up with a lot of names of people they could share the gospel with,
it was so fun to see that even the 4 year old wanted to share the gospel with her friends :)
We found a new investigator this week!
She is Zhou Xiao Jie.
We tracted into her house about a week ago, and we were finally able to sit down with her and share a message about the gospel <3
She has gone through a lot in her life,
and I think all of those experiences have really softened her heart,
and motivated her to find a church that she can really believe in.
I can't wait to see what happens in the weeks to come.
Line of the week:
*while in a 7-11*
Man: Look there's missionaries. Let's sit on the other side.
Woman: Ignore them. They don't know Chinese.
Man: Yeah, that's true.
Sister Olsen: *in Chinese* Hi!
Me: How are you today?
Sister Olsen: We just wanted to share with you this card about our church :)
Man and Woman: ......
Sister Olsen: Do you understand?
Me: Would you prefer english?
Man and Woman: .......
*As we are walking away*
Man: What just happened?
Woman: Apparently they know how to speak Chinese...
Moral of the Story? Don't mess with sisters.
Love you all!
Always, Sister Michelle Liu
