This week Sister Liu shared the following...
Quads of Steel// 100 days// Interviews
HELLOOOO EVERYONE
Fun fact: (Well it's not really fun but it's a fact..)
Apparently there was an earthquake in Taiwan this morning. We felt it but it wasn't that big, I just started shifting to the other side of the apartment along with my desk while I was studying. The apartment swayed for a bit, but that's pretty much it haha)
Anyways, this week has been an interesting one.. Let's just get started:
Monday. April 13. Day 97.
P-day is always nice :) We were able to get a lot of things done, Monday was a bit slow. We did a lot of contacting at night. We were able to get a lot of phone numbers and addresses, so we will see what happens with those people in the next couple of weeks :)
Tuesday. April 14. Day 98.
Well, we ran out of gas and hot water again. Not very enjoyable, but hey the joys of mission life :) Good thing we were invited for lunch because we couldn't cook. Louis (the second counselor in our ward) took all the missionaries to this restaurant, It is always nice to eat out :) We had DTM afterwards and went tracting for the rest of the day. Still the same, everyone is very nice and polite, just not interested... ( Well, at least not yet .. )
Wednesday. April 15. Day 99.
We woke up to a kitchen that was flooded. Turns out we had a leak in the kitchen sink pipe... We did get a repairman to come and fix the leak and the gas/hot water problem though, so that was good :) We got invited for dinner on wednesday! (Getting invited for food is a big thing here because it's not like the states where members sign up to feed the missionaries, we are usually on our own for all our meals, so we were blessed this week :D) We had english class later at night, the kids are finally starting to behave, we did meet some girls that might be interested in meeting with us, so we will see where that goes :)
Thursday. April 16. Day 100.
DAY 100!!! Whohoo well I made it 100 days into my mission :) On thursday I seriously gained some steel quads. We decided to powerboard for english class near a college that was a 45-50 min bike ride away... Well it was a great work out and kneeling to pray was a bit of a struggle after that... But we were able to meet a lot of college students, and hopefully they will all come to english class this week!
Friday. April 17. Day 101.
Friday was a day full of traveling and meetings. We took the train to go to interviews. We had interviews with the President, his wife, and the AP's. It was really nice to see President Blickenstaff again, he is really dedicated to the missionaries and the mission. Afterwards we traveled to another city for a trainer follow up meeting and I was able to see some of the missionaries that I came on island with! At night, we went to go visit a less active, Yin Nuo Ni. The first time we went to visit her she pretty much closed the door on us. The second time we went to visit her, we made it in the house, shared a simple message and challenged her to read her scriptures every night and pray. This time when we went to visit her, she seemed so much happier. She told us that she has been praying every night. After she is done praying, she opens up the book of mormon to a random page and starts reading. She told us that every time she opened the book of mormon it responded to her prayer that she said moments before. I think this applies to everyone, not just. I think that if any of you are having a hard time with reading your scriptures, try what Yin Nuo Ni did. I promise that you will see small miracles appearing :)
Saturday. April 18. Day 102.
1 month anniversary on island!! I can't believe I've been in Taiwan for a month already, it feels like i just stepped off the plane... Well we got to teach a lessonon saturday! We taught three girls, Tina, Angel, and Tiffany. They are actually former investigators from previous missionaries that were here a long time ago. We went through the restoration and answered their questions. They are 15 and 16 years old, and kind of reminded me of my sister which was funny. They are coming to church this week, so Sister Defranchi and I are really excited :)
Sunday. April 19. Day 103.
We had correlation meeting in the morning and came up with a bunch of ways to find new investigators, I can't wait to use the new ideas and see what happens this week! We tracted for the rest of the day and went to visit some less actives. We got lost.. again.. but hey, we will eventually figure out our way around this town. We didn't find anyone during tracting, in fact this group of people actually starting running away from us, which was pretty funny... But maybe tracting will have better results this week :)
Ok that is all for this week, love and miss you all!
Love, Sister Michelle Liu
